E-BIKE POLICIES

  • Transportation: Receiver tray style racks and tailgate pads approved by Chile Pepper staff only. No trunk rack, roof racks or shuttle services.
  • Trails: E-Bikes are not allowed on any non-motorized trail system here in Moab. The only trails that we allow our E-Bikes on are the Deadhorse State Park trail system, Slick Rock trail system and the Sovereign trail system.
  • Range: The approximate range for a fully charged battery varies wildly depending on brand, trail conditions, rider weight, temperature, power mode used, and elevation gained.  The approximate range in Moab for a fully charged battery with a 180-pound (80kg) rider is: 20 miles in Boost, 30 miles in Trail, and 40 miles in Eco modes. These are approximations- terrain and temperature extremes will affect battery life and range.
  • Rider Accepts Responsibility: In the event of electrical or mechanical failure, Chile Pepper is NOT responsible for field recovery or assistance. If you run it out of battery or the bike has an electrical issue, YOU are responsible for getting the heavy bike home. And if you decide to ride trails where E-bikes are illegal, you are responsible for all consequences there after (i.e. tickets, bike confiscated, late fees).
